On a glorious Pentecost afternoon on Sunday 20 May 2018, we held our annual Hardwick Village Fete (2pm to 4pm), and raised over £1,600 towards church funds.
There were homemade cakes and produce, homegrown plants, books and bric-a-brac, tombolas, games and competitions, and a grand raffle with a luxury hamper as the first prize. Plus, afternoon teas and ice creams in the village hall.
Visitors were able to nominate their favourite hymns and say why they mean so much to them. We sang all of them at our Whitsunday Songs of Praise, 6pm in church. It was a joyous and inspirational occasion.
Do watch out for next year's fete.
