Benefice Vision for 2020

Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple,
they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts,
praising God and having the goodwill of all the people.
Acts 2:46

Like the early Church in Jerusalem, in Acts 2:42-47, as a benefice of four churches, we feel that we are well-supported by our villages.  We are and want to be welcoming churches who offer a Christ-like welcome to all we meet, who come through our doors.  Our vision is to be festival churches who offer apt, moving and memorable services at key times in church and family life - such as Christmas, Easter, Harvest, and Remembrance, and when children are born, couples meet and want to marry, and when loved ones die.  Like the early Church, we are seeking to grow in numbers and in our relationship with God.  Whilst we may sow the seeds of faith, it is God who makes them grow (1 Corinthians 3:6).

Our focus for 2020 is on:

Praying for our villages, our nation and our world during this time of crisis with Covid-19 and lovingly serving those who are struggling to cope and/or facing restrictions and self-isolation.  Once the crisis is over, we will be:

►  Taking Church outdoors
►  Going out and meeting with our farmers
►  Reaching out to the people moving into Overstone Leys
►  Exploring how we can live out our faith in our daily lives
