Open Churches

I was glad when they said to me,
'Let us go to the House of the Lord.'

Psalm 122:1

Our church buildings are open on Sunday afternoon for individual private prayer and reflection.  We have cleared them of items that could pass on infection, introduced one-way systems with 2 metre safe distance signs, provided hand sanitiser as you come in and leave church, put up signs to show where you can sit and pray in private, and keep them clean.

Currently, Hardwick, Mears Ashby and Overstone Churches are open between 12 Noon and 4pm on Sundays.  From Sunday November 29th, Sywell Church will be open instead of Overstone Church.

We strongly encourage you to wear a face covering in church (unless you have a medical condition which prevents this) as it is a legal requirement to wear a face covering in places of worship.

If others are in church at the same time as your visit, please keep 6ft / 2 metres distance from them.  When you enter and leave, feel free to use our hand sanitiser or you can bring your own.  You can also scan our QR code or fill in a Test and Trace consent form.  May being in God's house refresh and revive your soul and fill you with peace and inspiration for the coming week.  God's love is with you in this waiting time as well as when you can go with gladness into his house.

We will be keeping a safe distance of 72 hours or more between each access to our church buildings.  We may - on occasion - have to keep one of our churches closed on a Sunday afternoon for this reason or alter opening times.  Do check this page or our church calendar for changes to the normal opening pattern..

If you have any of the Covid-19 symptoms (high fever - cough - loss of taste / smell) or have tested positive for the virus, or been asked to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace service, or someone in your household has one or more of the Covid-19 symptoms, please stay at home.  You are in our prayers and on God's heart.

If you fall ill within seven days of a visit to one of our churches, please contact Revd Katrina or one of our churchwardens.
