God of glory,
the end of our searching,
help us to lay aside
all that prevents us from seeking your kingdom,
and to give all that we have
to gain the pearl beyond all price,
through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Collect for Trinity 11
This week, Jesus is taking some time out in Tyre and Sidon, a Gentile area north of Galilee. It feels like he is thinking about how to persuade the un-persudable that he is God's chosen one - the Messiah. He is in for a surprise... and so are we! This passage is a challenging and thought-provoking read. It is a lesson in the breadth of God's love. May it dissolve our hidden differences and divisions.
May it widen our love.
