Heavenly Father,
at the Jordan you revealed Jesus as your Son:
may we recognise him as our Lord
and know ourselves to be your beloved children;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect for The Baptism of Christ
The season of Epiphany continues as God reveals himself to us through Jesus, his Son. In this week's reading, we witness the baptism of Jesus and his anointing by the Holy Spirit at the River Jordan. We will hear God's loving affirmation of his Son as Jesus sets out on his earthly ministry. It was a world premiere - the first time that God shows himself to be a Trinity of Love. May this fill you with deep delight and joy.
May you also experience God's delight and love for you. May he affirm you as one of his beloved children.
