Risen, ascended Lord,
as we rejoice at your triumph,
fill your Church on earth with power and compassion,
that all who are estranged by sin
may find forgiveness and know your peace,
to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Collect for Easter 7
We are in the season between Ascension and Pentecost when the apostles waited on the Holy Spirit's coming into their lives. In our Gospel reading, which comes from the eve of the cross, Jesus prays for himself and for his team. It is a beautiful prayer for us in this Thy Kingdom Come season. His prayer is that we glorify his Father in heaven by the way that we live by faith. He prays that we will be protected by the Holy Spirit as we do this.
May his prayer inspire your praying.
