Eternal Lord,
our beginning and our end:
bring us with the whole creation
to your glory, hidden through past ages
and made known
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect for Epiphany 2
The season of Epiphany continues as God reveals who his Son is to John the Baptist - The Lamb of God. It is an image rich with Old Testament meaning. It also has a clear connection to one of the wise men's gifts - myrrh for sacrifice. Lamb of God is a title that points to our Lord sacrificing his life for us on the cross.
