Holy God,
you know the disorder of our sinful lives:
set straight our crooked hearts,
and bend our wills to love your goodness
and your glory
in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect for Sunday next before Lent
In our edition for the Sunday before Lent begins, we find ourselves on a mountain with three of the disciples, Peter, James and John. as Jesus spends time in prayerful preparation. It is a scene set for the Transfiguration. A glorious scene. Jesus is revealed in all his heavenly glory. Two of the stars of the Old Testament - Moses and Elijah - come to show that he is the Messiah. I wonder what messages they bring from his Father in heaven? It is a scene from Jesus' life that is full of meaning.
May you feel ready for Lent to begin.
