God of Love,
passionate and strong,
tender and careful:
watch over us and hold us
all the days of our life;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Collect for Mothering Sunday
On Sunday, we pause our Lenten pilgrimage to give thanks to God for our mums and all who have been like mums to us. It can be a day full of joy and love, and happy memories. Or, it can be a day filled with sadness because we have lost our mum... would have loved to have been a mum... or we have lost a child... there are so many reasons why Mothering Sunday can be a difficult day for us or someone we know.
May these prayers and reflections meet you where you are, and also help you to hold all mums and would-be mums on your heart as God holds you on his.
